DivorceMaybe is an anonymous, free community for people in BC who are separating, unsure, or rebuilding after — with a directory of counselors and family lawyers checked against their regulator. We're opening in Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley, and inviting a small group of founding professionals to list first.
How the pilot works
You give us
- Your Law Society of BC or college registration number
- The practice or focus areas you regularly work in, your languages and city
- Your OK on the finished listing — nothing goes live without it
We do
- Check your registration by hand against the public registry
- Publish your listing with the Verified badge
- Pass members' messages to you privately — members use display names, and our email notices never include message text
- Pause or remove your listing whenever you ask

- Honest feedback on the experience while we build
- Optionally, general answers in the forum's "Ask a pro" thread — general information only, never soliciting

Lawyers & law firms
Free listing for lawyers
Family lawyers list free. Paid lawyer plans aren't offered yet — they will only open after the Law Society of BC has confirmed our flat-fee model, and they will only ever be a flat monthly listing fee.

We don't describe any lawyer as a "specialist", and listings show only the practice areas you regularly practise. Any paid placement will always be labelled as paid.

Flat monthly listing fees in Canadian dollars, after your free period. Free for your first 3 months at launch; founding counselors may get longer. Premium placement is always labelled as paid.

Simple flat fees — no referral cut
You pay a flat monthly listing fee and keep 100% of every fee you earn. We never take a commission on your client work and never charge a per-client referral fee.
For lawyers and law firms this is deliberate: paying a non-lawyer a share of legal fees or a fee per referred client runs against the Law Society of BC rules on fee-sharing and referral fees. DivorceMaybe is an advertising platform — a flat listing fee, like any directory or publication — so your listing stays fully compliant.
Optional add-on for counselors: featured keyword slots from $49–$89 / month for top placement on a specific city, focus or language page (always labelled as paid).
Counselors may optionally enable in-platform booking with a small convenience fee (10%) on sessions booked through the site; that's never applied to legal services. All prices in CAD. Current launch pricing — final terms ship before billing turns on. Questions? Get in touch.
